IBC Minutes December 4, 2010
The Club met at MCL with 13 present. It was a snowy day, so it kept some from attending.
Carol opened the meeting, because Brian had water on his floors due to plumbing problems.
I read minutes from November. Nancy reported $613.58 in treasury. She has new colored cards. 50 cents each.
Report on those not here: Deann's great grand daughter was here from OK.
Jan has ulcerated sores on legs. Susie and Bob,. bad weather. Kerns, weather. Phyliss Dibble, is not doing well.
We discussed where to give our monies this Christmas. We voted on the Hollis Adams Foundation for Adult Disabilities. We made $50 on the raffle today and will add $100 from Club. Nancy will send them a check for $150.
Margaret asked about changing the time for the Presidents reception at State Show. We discussed it. Not sure when it will be.
The Button Box should be out soon, with State Show business. It was suggested to make room reservations now. There was a disscussion on State Show entries. We now follow National rules.
We had the button exchange. The Christmas raffle and show n tell.
The January meeting will be program by Pat Cooper on pearls with Carol as hostess.

The Club met at MCl with 19 present.  Brian opened the meeting.  I read minutes from Oct.
Nancy reported $497.48 in treasury.  She will get new colored cards. 
Old bus.  the web site is up and running per Kevin.  All can put on info and pics.
The 7 that went to Jari's studio had good time making a button, and buying some of Jari's handmade buttons. 
Russa had made sample flyers to be passed out for State Show.  They will be revised and passed out to all to post somewhere. Pat has favor button ordered.  Sharon has 16 dealers for show and judges lined up.  She will be doing our Ipls Club program books..sign up to be hostess or do a program.   We voted to leave dues at $5.  Pay them to Nancy.   The picnic will be June 11 at Sue Nadin's home. 
If you have a concern or emergency you want passed on to everyone call Brian and he will start the callling chain.  He will call the first person on the list and they will call the next and so on. If you get answer machine  leave them a message and tell them you will call the next person.  You may have to call more than one person. 
Peggy is undergoing chemo and was unable to be at meeting.  She sent hostess bags via Brian and the program on vegetable ivory.  Thank You Peggy, we wish you well.  Some members brought cards of vegetable ivory buttons.
Brian's new book will be out in July.  The cover does have buttons on it 
The date to Debra Kish's(once owner of Buttons Galore) house to buy buttons is still pending.

Oct Minutes 2010
The Club met at MCL with 10 present.  Thanks to Margaret, our hostess.  Pete Thomas had carotid artery surgery and will be in rehab.  Bruce Schaller is still recuperating from car accident.  Jan Stimson has sores on feet due to diabetes.
Sharon had written the general rules, regulations and duties of the State Show officers with guidelines from Ilinois club.  We discussed these and added some.
The program was to bring buttons had question on.  Peggy brought some.

Indianapolis Button Club Minutes   September 11, 2010
The Club met at MCL with 15 present.  Thanks to Deann, for being hostess.  Brian opened the meeting stating that 3 husbands not doing well. Bruce, Pete and Linwood.  
 Nancy suggested a calling tree be started, something will be worked out.   Nancy wanted someone to take care of the cases, Brian will have them, call him if want one.  They are $18. 
Treasury balance is $437.48.
I read minutes from August.
New Bus.  Jari needs to have her Oct meeting on a week day, because she has classes on Sat.  We agreed on a field trip Wed. Oct 6 to her shop at 10:30.  We will still have our regular meeting on Oct 9 because of situation at MCL, with Margaret as hostess, bring favorite cards and buttons to make name tags, Kevin will send out emails to notify everyone. 
Brian received the pictures from Petra, IMA, to identify their collection.  We were all to take a page, but think Deann may have ended up with all of them.  
Brian had a call from Debra Kish, who once owned Buttons Galore, she has lots of buttons she would like to sell.   She wants to host a wine and cheese party and sell buttons.   Brian will schedule a date with her.   Kevin will send out emails. 
Brian brought up that the Club should pay for food and supplies for the picnic.  We all agreed.  Turn in your bills to be reimbursed.  
Deann had a very informative program on Goodyear rubber buttons with many examples.  and gave each of us one.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB MINUTES
AUGUST 7, 2010


The Club met at MCL with 25 present.  Brian opened meeting.   He reported that Petra Slinker at IMA needs help in identifying their collection; she will send pictures for us to label the buttons. 
 Nancy reported $382.73 in treasury.  New sleeves were $268.88.   They will be $10.75 per doz. 
Margaret talked with General Manager of MCL; he said we will have room rest of year.  
Russa had report on National, she also had her and Brenda’s winning trays. 
Wear your name tags, if have one. 
Thanks to Brian, Colleen and Chris, our Hostesses.  They had the program on ways to display buttons.  All 3 had many crafty examples.  Members also brought ideas.
We ate had show n tell and the raffle.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB MINUTES,  JUNE 12, 2010

The Club met at MCL with 19 present.  Thanks to Sue Nadin, hostess.
Carol opened the meeting wishing Happy Birthdays to Sue Hudson and Jan Stimson.
There were 2 guest, Melody Hendricks and Mary McGregor, Evansville.
Nancy reported $581.61 in treasury.  She has more cards at 50 cents each.  She will order more sleeves.  She reported that National City Bank is now PNC, no change in checking and no service charge. 
I read minutes from May, with one correction, the club  or ones that want to, will go as a group to IMA to help in identifying buttons.
Deann passed out the new Button Box. Thanks to her and Jan for great job.  Jan was also back after recuperating from surgery.  Jan had maps to the picnic in July.
Peggy Sapp had surgery on Wed; Betty reported to Sue that she was doing good, waiting for ongoing treatment for colon cancer. 
Sue and Sharon had program on Button Books. They both  had many examples and told a little about each.  Some members also brought books.
We ate had show n tell and the raffle.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB  MINUTES MAY 8, 2010 
The Club met at MCL with 18 present.  3 guests Donald and Sheila Mitchell from Ohio and Russa's sister Brenda from Illinois.
Thanks to Sondra Leeds for being hostess. 
President Brian opened the meeting.  I read minutes from April.  Nancy reported $708.95 in treasury.  M & M is going out of card business.  Nancy will get some at discount, she will also order more sleeves. 
No old business.
New business:  Jan Stimson is doing well.  She will be in Rosegate rehab for awhile.  7510 Rosegate Dr.  Southport and Emerson.   You can visit or call   Phone # 215-2607  room # 103A 
There were 25 for viewing buttons at IMA.  The curator was surprised there were so many.
Petra, one of the ladies at Museum called Deann to say they need help in identifying buttons so they can put them on internet for viewing.  If you want to do this call her at 923-1331 x286.
Sondra had the program on cat buttons.  She had research info and several cat buttons.  Others also brought some to share.
We had show n tell and the raffle.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB MINUTES  APRIL 10, 2010


THE CLUB MET AT MCL WITH 21 PRESENT.   THANKS TO SUE NADIN FOR BEING HOSTESSS. 
BRIAN OPENED THE MEETING.  I READ MINUTES FROM MARCH.  NANCY REPORTED $658.46 IN TREASURY.  
 STATE SHOW BUSINESS FROM MARGARET.  THERE WAS $300 + PROFIT.  JULIA STILL NEEDS SOME DUES PAID.  5 FAVOR BUTTONS LEFT FOR SALE. $5.  JULIA RECEIVED A LETTER FROM A DISSGRUNTLED MAN ABOUT OUR SHOW.   TOO MUCH FOR ADMISSION AND NO BUTTONS HE SAID.    SONDRA IS SENDING OUT THE THANK YOUS FOR RAFFLE DONATIONS.
SHARON THANKED BRIAN FOR BUSINESS CARDS; SHE GAVE ONE OUT AT MICHAELS.
THERE ARE FLYERS FOR OHIO AND ILLINOIS SHOWS, APRIL 16,17.
THE WEBSITE WILL BE CHANGING IN A MONTH.  KEVIN GOT THE BLOG TEMPLATE.  THERE WILL BE BUTTON PICTURES FROM COMPETITION CARDS ON SITE.  YOU CAN ADD THINGS YOURSELF.  
BRIAN SAID THERE ARE 20 GOING TO IMA ON APRIL 20.  THE LADY WILL LET 10 IN VAULT AT TIME.  DEANN APPRAISED THIS COLLECTION YEARS AGO. 
THE DATE IS STILL PENDING FOR SPRINGFIELD. 
SUE WILL HAVE THE PROGRAM IN JUNE.
WALLY PASSED OUT POEM; ODE TO A BUTTON BUG AND PICTURE OF MARGUERITE MAPLE.
FOR THE PROGRAM WE SHOWED OUR COMPETITION CARDS AND NEW BUTTONS FROM SHOW.
IT WAS LATER DISCUSSED ABOUT CHANGING OUR MEETING PLACE TO GET A PERMANENT ROOM.   A PLACE WE CAN EAT AND WITH EASY ACCESS.  ANY IDEAS WILL BE DISCUSSED.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB  MARCH 13, 2010 


The Club met at MCL with 19 present.  Two guest present,  Dana Peters and Joyce Levy.  Thanks to Nancy for being Hostess.
Brian opened the meeting.  I read minutes from Feb.  Nancy reported $563.78 in treasury.
She has more colored cards and will order more white, price 60 cents each.  Sleeves $10 dozen.  She asked that anyone that has not paid dues to do so. $5
Brian has Business Cards for Club, for us to hand out.  $10.50 for first order and $20 for 250 next orders.  We have an e-mail address:  info@indianapolisbuttonclub.org
  And thanks to Kevin we now have web site:  www.indianapolisbuttonclub.org  We need a web template at a one time price of $50 and $8 once a year to keep the name.  We voted to do this. 
Jan made motion to thank Brian and Kevin for getting us into 21st century. 
Sue checked in to charter bus or big vans to go to Springfield.  Decided it was not cost effective to rent.  We will car pool.  Carol said if let AAA antique mall know when will be there, they will have their dealers have more buttons. 
Pat suggested have more communication thru e-mail.  Send your e-mail to the site if want on list. 
The Illinois State Show is April 16, 17 in Champaign with a button auction on Saturday.
Margaret received very old letters from National that a IU student found in some papers he had.  
Margaret reported all is ready for Show.  Sign up to work Registration and Raffle tables when get to Show.  Jan had sign up sheet for Judging Room.
Cynthia Bookwalter decorated the window at the Hotel. 
We sewed buttons on the favor bags for the dealers. We asked Jan competition questions.
