December 1, 2012 Indianapolis Button Club Minutes
The Club met in Plainfield at Goody's Restaurant Sue was our hostess . She had lots of goodies and door prizes and Jerry sang. It was a fun party and good food. And lots of nice raffle prizes. We also had a button exchange.
Shane Caswell sold paperweight buttons he makes.
The next meeting will be Jan 9, 2013 at MCL Castleton. Sharon will have the program on snowflakes. Note this is the second Wednesday. We will try this time for 3 months to see if it works.
Nancy reported $520.92 in treasury. She received a thank you letter from Fletcher Place for our $200 donation.
We voted to give our collection today to Salvation Army. We made $76 on the raffle and rounded it to $100.

INDIANAPOLIS BUTTON CLUB NOVEMBER 2012 MINUTES
THE CLUB MET AT MCL WITH 13 PRESENT. Sue opened the meeting wishing Nov. Happy Birthdays.
Nancy reported $700.92 in treasurey She sent a check for $200 to Fletcher Place for our Christmas charity donation. No minutes from Oct.
We discussed moving the meeting day to be able to get a room. Majority voted on the second Wednesday starting with the Jan 9, 2013 meeting.
Sue passed out invitations to the Dec 1, Christmas party. It will be at Goody's Restaurant, 1601 E. Main Plainfield. Bring raffle prizes and button exchange. RSVP to Sue.
Nancy invited us to her 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 17, 3-5p at Union Chapel United Methodist Church on 86 and Haverstick(one block west of Keystone). Send a card if can't attend.
Shane Caswell who makes glass buttons will be at Dec. meeting. He makes paperweights and other types. Margaret met him at Talbot Art Fair.
Sandy reported on the 2013 Show. She has 13 dealers so far including Tender Buttons.
The Theme for the 2014 show will be "Love Affair with Buttons"
Peggy had the pogram on Celluloid buttons.
We had show n tell and the raffle.

Minutes IBC September 8, 2012

The Club met at Brian's Studio in Southport with 26 present.  Thanks to Brian and Kevin.  There were five guest, Brian's mother and 4 friends from SOTA. (society of textile artists).  Sorry if you missed this meeting because his studio is fabulous.  Full of creativeness, buttons, quilts, and projects that will be in his new book that will be out in December. 
Peggy conducted the meeting in Sue's absence
Nancy reported $676.35 in treasury.  Sharon had new colored cards for 50 cents. 
Sondra reported on Show status.  Showroom will be open Friday 8-12 with judging starting at noon.  Showroom reopens when judging done.
Cynthia Bookwalter has volunteered to be State Treasurer. 
Kevin will show Pat Cooper how to keep website updated. 
Deann suggested someone get approvals for a meeting.  Not sure if being done. 
Russa had flyers for 2013 National.  She also won second on tray of purple buttons at National. 
Jinny Esten has passed away, she was a dedicated button collector.
Janet Stimson is confined to bed rest.
Brian had us bring a favorite button to make a decorated petrie dish with cutouts and trim.  He furnished all the makings.  Fun project and they all looked great.

Indianapolis Button Club Aug 11, 2012
The Club met at MCL W86th with 16 present. Sue wished August Happy Birthdays . Those not present were remembered.
Thanks to Nancy our hostess.. She reported $624.35 in treasury.
I read minutes from July.
Margaret brought up that we need to decide what to do about making the Indianapolis club a State meeting. So we can conduct State business. We have 41 members that live in Indiana. We would need a quorum(15% of active members) to do so. To get more members and more attendance at State Show we need more advertising. We talked about getting more volunteers for Show and for officers. We now need a State treasurer before next March. Think about helping your State club. Sue tabled the discussion until next meeting.
The Sept meeting is at Brian's studio in Southport. Bring a sack lunch.
The October meeting we are to have our decorated cards done that Sharon gave us.
Sharon and Sue had the program on competition cards and what goes on from check-in to judging and display. Good information to know. Everyone that enters in 2013 will be expected to volunteer at some location.
Barbara got a first and sweepstakes over collections on her antique button cows at the State Fair. I just couldn't leave this out.
We ate had show-n-tell and raffle.

IBC Minutes July 14,2012
The Club met at W 86th MCL with 19 present and 1 guest Nina Olvey, Sue's friend. Sue wished Happy Birthday's. Nancy reported $607.35 in treasury. sleeves are $11.25/dozen cards are 6.00/dozen or 50 cents each She will buy more colored cards. I read minutes from June.
Margaret has volunteered to be Treasurer of State.
There was discussion about the new schedule for judging room.
Pat Cooper had the program on dispelling the "Myth that Grandmother's Button Box is Boring" . She had several books with button stories. We played a button sorting game.
We then had show n tell, ate and the raffle.
Russa, Don and Shelia and Deann had buttons for sale.
August meeting is still at 2370 W 86st MCL.

IBC Pinic
Thanks to Jerry and Sue for hosting the picnic at their home. Good time and good food.
There were 20 present. Sue reported on the ones not present. Some members sold buttons.
The July 14 meeting will be at 2370 W 86th st. MCL at Township Line Rd.
across from St Vincent Hospital with Margaret as hostess.  Sharon reported there are changes in the judging at Show. Competition judging will be Friday morning.
  The Show room will not open until judging done. She said the dealers are in favor of this. 
Margaret said she can not be Treasurer,  We now need a treasurer for next year Show.

Indianapolis Button Club Minutes May 12, 2012
We met at Deann's house with 25+ present. Thanks to Paul Edward and Paula for a great meal. And thanks to Deann for having all of us.
No old business. New business: Deann welcomed everyone and was pleased to have us .
Nancy reported $592.85 in treasury. She has new sleeves , paid $280.64. They are $11.25 per dozen.
We had the raffle, meal and looked at Deann's fabulous buttons.

Indianapolis Button Club Minutes April 14, 2012

The club met at MCL Castleton at 11 AM. There were 13 members present. Vice president Peggy Sapp called the meeting to order. Barb was not present so there was no secretarys report. Nancy reported that we have 835.49 in the tresasury. She has found a new place to buy sleeves and boards. She has ordered some and they will be alittle more expensive then before.
No new business. Carol and Johnnie gave a report on the recent field trip to Bloomington. Carol had some pictures of the buttons on display. Sounded like a very nice trip. They got to tour all of the Sage Museum.
Sharon reported that there were 172 trays entered into competition this year, that was up from last year. However the attendance was down.
Plans are being started for next years show. the theme will be Western Round Up. The dates are March 8,9,10, 2013. will still be held in Columbus IN. We are still discussing changing the location for 2014. Sharon reported that the Marriot at 21st and Shadland would be a good location. Has lots of room and is close to the interstate. She is going to look into the cost and report back.
There was no old bussiness. Johnnie had the program on China Buttons. Show and Tell followed with members showing their competition trays and awards.
Deann announced that the next meeting will be at her house on May 12th. She will serve the lunch.
We adjourned for lunch and the raffle was held as soon as we filled our tummies.

Indianapolis Button Club Minutes March 10, 2012
The Club met at Shapiro's on S. Meridian with 22 present. Thanks to Joyce Levy our hostess. She gave us bag of m m's and had made button pins. Sue wished this month's Happy Birthdays to Joyce and Russa. Beth Kern had a cold and didn't make it to the meeting, but sent her love.
The
April 14 meeting will be back at MCL Castleton at 11a
with Margaret as Hostess. The construction doesn't start until May. Johnnie will have program on Chinas.
Nancy reported $777.09 in treasury. She will have to order more sleeves that takes a big chunk of $.
New Bus; We all had received a letter from Nancy Curry. Deann called her. She has been selling buttons for awhile and was nice and receptive. She does not belong to State. but has been to our Show. A lady in Martinsville had called Deann and wanted her collection appraised. Deann couldn't make it so Sue went. She appraised them and bought some.
Cynthia had pics of the window she decorated at the Clarion Hotel(was Holiday Inn) in Columbus. To put an ad in Star is $77 an inch. We decided not to have ad in Star. A new State secretary and Judge room Chairman are needed for next year .
The Holiday Inn is now the Clarion Hotel. We have a contract for next years show. not sure of date. Sharon has ordered more ribbons for competition.
For the October meeting Sharon had passed out designs for us to mount buttons in a creative way. Deann would like copies of the designs before you mount buttons.
Jari Sheese is getting married and moving to Portland Oregon.
We had questions and answers about competition.(Sorry I did not take notes on these, you just had to be there)
Sondra reported that the theme for 2013 SHow will be "Western Roundup"
We had show n tell the raffle and Brenda and Russa brought buttons for sale.

Indianapolis Button Club Minutes Feb. 12, 2012
The Club met at MCL with 13 present. Our new President, Sue Nadin opened the meeting with her new gavel Jerry made.
Thanks to Sondra, our hostess. She also had an informative program on natural materials of which there are at least 55.
Nancy reported $700.34 in treasury. She has a new source for cards the Great Frame Up Shop. They will be 50 cents each.     I handed out the new Button Box.
Jan Stimson had her stitches out and is feeling better.
Show Business: Pat questioned if there is a welcome pack for new members at the Show. There are, she will put together something. People attending the breakfast can purchase an extra favor button at cost. Those not attending will pay $25. Cynthia will do the window based on Reality Shows. If you have any realistic buttons pertaining to this, get them to her before March 1.
We had the Valentine button exchange, raffle and show n tell.
The March 10 meeting will be at Shapiro's at 808 S Meridian 11a  with Joyce Levy as hostess. We will discuss Show business and questions about entries.

Indianapolis Button Club minutes Jan. 14, 2012
I opened the meeting in the absence of pres. and vp. 18 present.
Thanks to Jan Stimson our hostess. I read minutes from Dec. Nancy reported $617.64 in treasury. She sent Fletcher Place $150. and read a thank you note from them.
I read a letter from Lois Pool I received in Dec. She had a stroke in 2007 I had sent a get well card on behalf of the Club and she was now able to write back.
Sharon passed out the new program books.., thank you Sharon. She also has completed the IN State Button Soc. manual, most of which from IL book, telling the jobs of officers and duties of SHow Chairman. It has the new revised by-laws.
The State website needs to be updated..not sure who will do that. maybe Kevin??
Jan had a guest, her sister-in-law Carol Antrim. She used to be a member.
Jan reported the K of C is not available the next 2 years for the dates we want. Margaret said the dealers need a secure place and don't want to move.
If anyone wants to check into rates of other places, do so. and report back.
Bill Craig passed out cd's of the Good Wife for those that missed it.
He said he contacted Shapiro's on S. Meridian it was voted by majority that we will meet there in March. However it is still up to the hostess where they want to meet.
Margaret heard from IMA, they have 4 trays of buttons on display. They want to put all the buttons on flicker but need help identifying.The pictures they sent were bad.
Show report: Margaret said room rate $88 breakfast will be the same. make your reservations ask for Button Show rate.
Kevin reported the roadtrip to see the collection at IU in Bloomington will be April 10 Tues. at 10am. Brian thanked all for his button shower and has sent the buttons off to be in his new fabric collection.
Deann had the program on plain-faced gilted buttons and Golden Age buttons. Very interesting and informative. And she had mounted them on plexiglass so we can see the backs that are alot more interesting than the fronts.
Next meeting Feb 11 at MCL Castleton.
