Indianapolis Button Club minutes Jan. 14, 2012
I opened the meeting in the absence of pres. and vp. 18 present.
Thanks to Jan Stimson our hostess. I read minutes from Dec. Nancy reported $617.64 in treasury. She sent Fletcher Place $150. and read a thank you note from them.
I read a letter from Lois Pool I received in Dec. She had a stroke in 2007 I had sent a get well card on behalf of the Club and she was now able to write back.
Sharon passed out the new program books.., thank you Sharon. She also has completed the IN State Button Soc. manual, most of which from IL book, telling the jobs of officers and duties of SHow Chairman. It has the new revised by-laws.
The State website needs to be updated..not sure who will do that. maybe Kevin??
Jan had a guest, her sister-in-law Carol Antrim. She used to be a member.
Jan reported the K of C is not available the next 2 years for the dates we want. Margaret said the dealers need a secure place and don't want to move.
If anyone wants to check into rates of other places, do so. and report back.
Bill Craig passed out cd's of the Good Wife for those that missed it.
He said he contacted Shapiro's on S. Meridian it was voted by majority that we will meet there in March. However it is still up to the hostess where they want to meet.
Margaret heard from IMA, they have 4 trays of buttons on display. They want to put all the buttons on flicker but need help identifying. The pictures they sent were bad.
Show report: Margaret said room rate $88 breakfast will be the same. make your reservations ask for Button Show rate.
Kevin reported the roadtrip to see the collection at IU in Bloomington will be April 10 Tues. at 10am. Brian thanked all for his button shower and has sent the buttons off to be in his new fabric collection.
Deann had the program on plain-faced gilted buttons and Golden Age buttons. Very interesting and informative. And she had mounted them on plexiglass so we can see the backs that are alot more interesting than the fronts.
Next meeting Feb 11 at MCL Castleton.
